My Students
I have 30 amazing 6 and 7 year old first graders whose imaginations are just as active as their bodies.
First graders need tactile, hands-on and engaging activities to spur on their growth.
Our school has supportive parents but state budget cuts to education have meant cutting back on even essential items. Despite these budget restraints, the goal of our school is to reach every student every day, no matter what it takes. We will do whatever we can to meet each individual need.
My Project
Having another iPad in my classroom is so important! I have 30 wonderful 1st graders this year which is more first graders than I have ever had. Due to the high number of kiddos I have a larger group of students in my center rotations thus I no longer have the right amount of iPads I need for all students in a center. My students don't mind sharing but some activities on the iPad need to be just for one individual student because it is on their account, tracking their progress.
iPads are an essential part of making my students' learning more fun, interesting, and innovative.
We currently use them for not only fun learning apps but also to make video book reviews, to play on our interactive OSMO system, and in many other hands-on ways. Having another iPad would be so helpful with this large number of students.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
