This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our young children of today are accustomed to high levels of brain stimulation and technology. We can't change it, but we as educators can use it to motivate and reach our students at the levels they are already at. iPads are the perfect tool to motivate, teach, & empower.
My students are a sweet, responsible bunch of full-day kindergarten kids.
They are always excited about technology, and have learned to use Apps at home to read and practice foundational skills. We've already come up with some exciting reading and writing activities using my one, personal iPad. Their excitement has inspired my request.
My Project
My students love school, however, our tools are outdated compared to what they are used to and what they need. I find it becoming more challenging to keep them motivated with the absence of iPads in the classroom. The lesson possibilities are limitless! Apps are updated and new ones are constantly added. My students wouldn't hesitate to practice on iPads.
Bottom line, teachers can't compete with worksheets.
Our children understand the possibilities and learning freedoms iPads offer. It is my job as a caring educator to provide my students with the best instructional practices with the use of iPads. Please consider our request, and thank you for caring!
