I want to help open windows for my first graders' eager minds.
My first graders are curious, motivated, and have a strong love of learning.
Although they come from different backgrounds and countries, they all have a desire to succeed. Having limited access to technology at home, many students are having difficulties completing our many reading technology programs. We have a limited number of devices and computers in the classroom that cannot meet the needs of all 20 students in my room.
My Project
These resources will double the amount of iPads in the classroom allowing more students to be able to use them each day. iPad station is a favorite for all students. Having an additional two iPads will allow each student to use their own iPad during small groups to complete individualized programs and online reading tests that check their comprehension of self selected stories they are reading. In addition, this will allow each table to have access to their own iPad. In turn, groups of 5 students will be able to work in collaboration on research projects, mini movies, and other small group activities.
This project will allow all students more chances to use technology on a daily basis.
It will give students more chances to complete online programs during the school day since they are unable to complete them at home. All of this will help the students become even more successful readers, writers, and thinkers.
