it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school recently adopted a new hall and bathroom pass system, and it requires access to technology. At the same time, we are not allowed to let students have their phones out during class. This may seem contradictory, because it is, but they desperately need access to technology that will allow them to put in for a bathroom pass or pass to another teacher for make up work, etc.
With one iPad and keyboard, I can give easy access to students to our pass system by setting up a kiosk, while also ensuring that class time is not wasted or disrupted by this new system.
This iPad will be in constant use in my classroom by students and will greatly enhance the classroom experience for every kid who walks into my room. This system will also ensure that no student is left needing the restroom and suffering through class because we're all too busy to put in or approve a pass. I also believe this will teach kids some self-reliance and flexibility in making smart choices about when they should leave class and when they shouldn't, by placing all responsibility on them. They make their own choices without my constant supervision.
