Help me give my students iPads to engage in fun, hands-on, STEAM related activities and lessons such as creating stop motion movies, robotics, and coding!
I am an allied arts teacher that teaches a subject relatively new to our school: STEAM Studio. In STEAM Studio students engage in activities that are preparing them to be future scientists, engineers, architects, computer science technicians, and more! It is a super fun class where all students are able to engage in meaningful, fun, challenging, hands-on activities! Most of the students at my school come from homes that are well below the poverty level and more than 60% speak a language other than english. For students that are adjusting to our american school culture and newly learning english, STEAM Studio is a place where they can engage in meaningful activities that are hands on and accommodate their language needs. The students love coming to STEAM Studio!!
The addition of iPads to STEAM Studio would open up a whole new realm of STEAM lessons and activities for my students!
They would be able to engage with technology in order to film stop motion movies, complete coding lessons, use apps to further their math and science skills, and even control our DASH robots more easily! There are so many possibilites, and the addition of iPads would really allow me to create even more engaging lessons for my students. Please consider donating to my project!
