My students need three iPads for enrichment and skills practice purposes during small group instruction time. The iPads would make students want to practice.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The time for worksheets is slowly coming to an end, and the time for electronic devices is here! My students are aware of all the technological gadgets around them, but have no access to any. These devices would bring the technology to my students' fingertips. Practice would be FUN!
My students come from hardworking families that spend most of their income on the necessities of life.
Very few funds are left and available to our families to spend on technology. My students are very aware of the many available technological resources, but know that they many never touch these wonderful and interesting teaching tools. My students are very hard working and want to learn. They are mostly English learners who would benefit from more hands-on tools that would make skills acquisition easier. Our school is located in a high poverty neighborhood. The unemployment rate here hovers around 20%. Our school's budget has been cut, and many of the services that used to target high poverty English learners, have been cut or eliminated. We need all the help we can get and are looking forward to getting your support. It is much needed.
My Project
Having iPads in the classroom would bring the world to my students' fingertips. I can visualize six of my students sitting together at a large table working quietly. They are partnered, a device for every two children. They are either practicing their multiplication tables using a game format. Or they may be reading a book to each other about baby baboons. Or they may be playing a math game that involves purchasing multiple items and trying to figure out how much change they will get. My students will be totally engaged in their learning. It would be wonderful to behold.
My students need more hands-on experiences to help them learn the skills they need to compete with their counterparts in more affluent neighborhoods.
These devices will provide the children with these experiences that they would otherwise not have available.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
