My Students
I have to say that teaching kindergarten is one of the most rewarding jobs there is. To see how they come to school in the fall as "babies" and leave as "big kids" is an amazing transformation to watch.
Meeting the needs of all the students that enter my classroom each year can be a big challenge, but one that I am always willing to undertake.
My kindergarten classroom each year is full of diversity. I teach at a Title I school that also has a high English Language Learner population.
My Project
The use of iPads in my classroom will help assist my students with needed practice in various skills being taught in class. We use different websites in class where students can practice math facts, sight words, reading, rhyming and other kindergarten skills.
With only two classroom computers it makes it difficult for all students to get an equal amount of technology time.
These iPads will help the students in my class cycle through the sites that provide extra needed practice. The more practice they receive with ELA and Math skills the more gains they will make. Many of my students may not have the opportunity to practice these skills at home.
