Help me give my students engaging and hands on instruction! iPads are helpful tools for the littlest learners. The apps available for early childhood education are unlimited and iPads are user friendly for children still learning their letters.

My Project
iPads seem to be in every child's hands these days! They can operate a phone before they learn to read! So what if we uses these same devices for education? Help me do just that!
I'm looking for a donation of a class set of iPads for my kindergarten classroom.
Currently, my students have chromebooks. Most five year olds enter school never having typed on a keyboard before. They are still unable to identify many of their letters. Logging each of the students into their computers takes up substantial time away from instruction. iPads can be prepped for facial recognition and allow students to log in right away! There are apps that specifically target early childhood education. There are tracing apps available on the app store that tell the child the letter name, the sound, and model how the letter should be formed. It keeps the child following the letter formation pattern and significantly improves handwriting while simultaneously teaching letter name and sound. There are sentence building apps that teach students sentence structure. There are sight word apps that improve sight word knowledge tenfold! Sight words can be tricky to learn independently because if the child doesn't know the word, writing it over and over is not helpful. The world must hold meaning.
In addition, iPads can be amazing tools for students with disabilities. Students who struggle with fine motor and receive OT services can find success in practicing with a stylus on an iPad. The repetition on the device translates over to pen and paper.
I have seen so much success with appropriate usage of iPads and early childhood education. I'd love to give these tools to my students for years to come!
