I teach at a wonderful school in Utah. My first graders are amazing. Many of them speak two languages fluently and come to school ready to learn and absorb all they can! There are a few that need a lot of extra help due to little or no help from home. Their parents have made some difficult choices that have had an impact on my students living situations. Some live with grandparents, aunts and uncles, or single parents.
The best part of my job is watching my students learn and grow throughout the year and see the progress they make each and every day!
I love my job and I love seeing my students gain confidence and have success even more!
My Project
We live in an era where technology is both prevalent and necessary for students to have and learn from. In our classroom, we have several students that come from homes that don't have the opportunity to use different types of technology at all. For many, what they use and see at school is their only exposure. I would love to be able to use technology and iPads more frequently in my classroom with the use of two new iPads.
We need two iPads and covers to help them improve their reading and math skills to aide in their overall school success!
These iPads would be used by students and Parent Volunteers to aide in practicing reading and math skills for ESL and struggling students. I want every student to have exposure to the wonderful apps and activities that are available, and this is a great way for me to be able to reach all learners. I am excited to utilize more technology and iPads in my classroom!
