My Students
We need to bring technology to our first grade students. My first grade students do not have access to a computer in our classroom. By not having access to the most up-to-date technology students are missing out on learning opportunities.
My first graders represent many ethnicities and come from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds.
There is a wide range of academic abilities in our classroom. Students are eager to learn and strive to do their best at all times. They enjoy interactive and hands-on learning. While many of these students have Internet access at home, several do not.
My Project
Providing two iPads to our classroom would be beneficial and motivating to my students. Students will be able to have a hands-on approach to technology and academics while using the iPads. They will be able to access the technology piece of our new Go Math curriculum. They will also have the opportunity to work on reading and comprehension through the Accelerated Reader program. Students will be using academic apps during small group instruction and independent activities to practice and reinforce skills they are learning.
My students will be highly engaged in learning activities while using the iPads.
Students need to know how to use technology for academics to prepare them to become successful adults.
