Ipads for Everyone - Part 2

My students need an iPad and case to help us reach the goal of a 2:1 iPad : student in the music room.

My Students

My students are digital natives who absolutely love learning about and creating music. They are accustomed to using devices in almost all of their classes on a regular basis. We love using devices in music class! Help us create an environment where we have a 2:1 ratio of iPads to students.

As digital natives, my students have a comfort level with technology that I can hardly imagine.

In music class we sing, dance, play instruments and play games. When they are available, my students love to use iPads to access apps and web 2.0 tools to create and experience music.

My Project

My students will be able to use the iPad you provide as a way to access the new online music textbook that was adopted by our school district this year. This online textbook includes streaming audio, listening maps, ebooks and really good virtual instruments that mirror the instruments that are used in the elementary music classroom. Additionally, students will be able to use various apps and web 2.0 tools to demonstrate their learning. Students will also use iPads to create a portfolio of their own classroom performances.

This project will make a difference to my students because it will help us reach our goal of a 2:1 ratio of iPads : students.

In music class time is very limited as students typically only attend music once a week for less than an hour. Under those circumstances the best way to integrate technology is to ensure a workable ratio. Every iPad matters. Thank you for your support.
