Imagine a class that is filled with joy and the excitement of learning and experiencing music. Now imagine how much could be learned with Ipads as tools for learning every day! We are excited to build a class set of Ipads for the music rooms.
My students are enthusiastic musicians firmly established in the digital age.
My students are accustomed to using digital devices in every aspect of learning and would love the opportunity for more regular Ipad use during music class. When we are able to borrow Ipads from the library even the most reluctant learners are fully engaged.
My Project
In addition to being able to access a variety of free music apps, there are a multitude of web 2.0 tools that my students can use for recording music and research. Additionally, my school district has adopted a new digital textbook for music specifically designed for use with tablets. My hope is to build up a collection of Ipads so that when my students attend my class, they always have devices available for use for all aspects of music instruction.
My school is in a high growth area and every year we add new classrooms so as a result providing enough technology to meet the needs of our school is a moving target.
Due to the high demand and the needs of the regular homeroom classes access to necessary technology in music is limited at best. We simply don't have enough Ipads on campus to provide regular access to Ipads during music class. Your donation toward the purchase of an Ipad and cover for music would help us meet our goal of 2:1.
