My Students
My students want an iPad in order to be able to integrate technology into the classroom on a daily basis for both math and reading. In our technological world today students need to be exposed to up to date technology but the school district does not supply us with the proper tools to do so.
Our school is located in a large urban area with a high poverty level.
My 26 students strive to succeed in a neighborhood where education is not a priority. I try on a daily basis to help motivate them and instill in them a love of learning. Most of our student population receives free breakfast and lunch. My students want an iPad in order to be the best they can be. They are motivated by the use of technology in the classroom and currently beg to use our one working computer in the classroom. Most of our supplies for math and reading activities are teacher made to assist with the visual learner but they need and deserve much more!
My Project
Having just one iPad in the classroom will enable me to reach all learners and make a huge difference. My 26 students are on a variety of levels so I can use it to motivate and challenge on level students or to reach the struggling below level students. I have several students who are English Language Learners and they speak a variety of languages. There are so many enriching activities available for the iPad that can be used in the classroom by students independently or in small groups. My students are eager to learn and when motivated make great progress. Please help me to make a difference for my students.
