My Students
My special education classes are groups of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. My students have a range of services needed to access the curriculum. My classes love to use technology to assist in meeting these needs.
In this class, we build follow the motto "every student gets what he/she needs".
As my students reach individual goals and objectives in my classroom, we decide as a team what new goals and objectives should be, and I design lessons to help reach them. My classroom is about building skills and knowing individual strengths and weaknesses. The work we do in this classroom is building relationships, learning life skills, and accessing general education content in different ways. We celebrate the small moments as well as the big ones!
My Project
The iPads will be used as assistive technology tools for the students. Students will be able to write essays using word processing tools, use speech to text/text to speech, and use immersive readers on websites or with literacy/texts.
Students in my classroom thrive when we provide them with the tools to access the curriculum.
These iPads will allow my students to access tools that would not be available without the use of technology. These iPads will be shared within each of my classes by students who do not have a personal device to use.
