This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom is a room of discovery! My students love technology and working with programs that enhance their learning. Every student has a Chromebook assigned to them, however they are limited on what can be done with just a Chromebook.
My students are creative, clever and very spontaneous.
I want them to have limitless opportunities to explore math and science with the best technology available.
I teach 41 students from all walks and talks of life. Some of them only have the opportunity to use technology at school. I want to give them every opportunity to embrace technology in our classroom and learn as much as they can by the end of the year.
My Project
Students will be using iPads Minis to complete many math and science projects. They will use them to record stories about space and endangered animals. They will create weather reports using iMovie. Students will use the QR scanner app to complete many projects in the classroom that involve students moving from station to station and scanning codes. These codes will give them clues to move onto the next task.
Projects will also include using the touch screen to draw diagrams to demonstrate knowledge in both math and science.
Students will create how to videos for students to complete long division and multi-digit multiplication. These videos will be uploaded onto the classroom blog for parents and friends to view learning taking place in the classroom.
