Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is located in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood. The students must be in a lower income bracket to qualify for pre-k. Many of their parents are either from Hispanic countries or are first generation Americans. It is in the classroom that my four and five year olds first develop their feelings about school, learning how it relates to them. They come in eager and ready to learn about the world around them. They especially love learning through technology and play.
My Project
I would like to set up an ipad center using exclusively osmo kits . To complete the center I need three more i-pads.
This center would be a great way to help support the academic skills so needed by my young students. The addition of these iPads would enable me to set up a stand alone center.
Objectives such as letter and sound recognition, listen to read, coding, and spacial reasoning are emphasized. This center which is mainly hands on, is one of the best ways for a child in pre-k to learn. The activities used in the center will make learning fun and memorable.
