My Students

"Tell me and I'll forget. Teach me and I'll remember. Involve me and I'll learn." -Ben Franklin. Kindergarten student's love being involved in everything! They are active in their learning and yearn to learn! As a teacher I want to create a classroom where active learning is constantly occurring.

I have 45 AMAZING kindergarteners!

They are eager to learn and remind me everyday that we can do difficult things. They work so hard at trying their best. They love their school friendships, their families and their love of school is still developing and growing each day. These 5 and 6 year olds are sponges and this is the time to hook them into the idea of loving and enjoying school. My classroom is a great example of the diversity we have in America. We have a variety of cultures and backgrounds that walk into our classroom each day. I have 5 different languages in my classroom. I have students that speak English and some that have never heard a word in English before. I have students that have come into kindergarten being able to read, while others know some of the letter sounds and some do not know any. The iPad Minis will help engage the variety of levels in my classroom.

My Project

Imagine this; walking into a classroom where students are engaged in what they are doing. These mini iPads will be used during small group time in my classroom. My students will be able to play a variety of different learning games to practice was is being taught in the classroom. The iPads will be used to benefit my English Language Learners to build their language acquisition. Not only will the mini iPads enrich the students learning, but it will teach them how to use the technology. Many of these students do not have computers, iPads or any type of technology at home. Being tech savvy is critical in our world today and these mini iPads will give these students the opportunity to engage in the technology.

This donation will provide my students the opportunity to use technology in the classroom.

I will allow students to self-direct their learning during small group instruction in an engaging manner.
