My Students
I have been teaching in a Title I school in New York. Our Kindergartners are comprised of 25 English language learners and some ICT students, many of whom come from multi-generational households. Most of them are also from non-English speaking low-income nuclear and/or extended families.
Despite the pandemic, language, and economical hardships, my students are eager to return to school to school to do in-person learning.
I want them to know that I am an educator who wants them to safely succeed in our school community. I am interested in providing them with a safe environment and provide them with many meaningful learning experiences.
My students and I are always excited to continue to explore how Kindergarten children can safely learn from educational apps and to interact with one another in the school environment.
My students are very interested in learning to use iPads to connect to educational apps. We take pride in scaffolding their understandings so they can become independent thinkers and gain hands-on experiences
My Project
I have requested 5 iPads and Apple Pencils. By donating to our project, you will help my students improve and increase their attention span, and to stay focused on reading and social studies activities. My students will increase their social emotional awareness, academic, and technical achievement with these resources. Students will learn to use the iPads to independently access educational websites such as EPIC and Unite for Literacy to help with our Social Emotional Learning curriculum through the year.
Students will improve their literacy in social emotional learning, reading, and writing skills with the aid of any updated technology.
The use of iPads to access the internet will help increase their thinking and literacy abilities, as well as their desire to learn and to use the technology!
More than half of students from low‑income households
