This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you recall what being a first grader without knowing anything about computers or technology equipment? Sadly, my students have limited access to the latest technical devices.
I teach an incredible group of 22 first graders who love coming to school each day.
They are so eager to get their hands on any and everything offered to them on a daily basis. They live in a high poverty neighborhood, and most of them qualify and receive free lunch. Nonetheless, this does not prevent them from wanting to absorb new lessons and skills presented to them.
My Project
With the iPad, my students will be able to have access to the latest technology. It will provide them with the opportunity to increase reading fluency, assist them with story comprehension, and better prepare them for the second grade. They will learn how to manipulate the devices through the use of the keyboard and protect the iPad with the cover. It will allow them the resources they would otherwise not have or have had.
I thank you in advance for your generosity in helping fund this project because you will afford my students with opportunities they have little or no access to.
My students, as each child does, deserve every chance at modern technology with no limits to enhance learning. You will make learning fun and exciting for these children that have had very few chances of manipulating such resources or devices.
