This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a kindergarten teacher, I have watched my students blossom this school year. It can be challenging teaching students who come in at so many different levels. But we work hard to get them reading and writing and ready for 1st grade. And technology is such an important part of today's curriculum.

Being in the school district for 21 years, I have seen so many changes.

Every few years, the district makes changes about new ways to teach and new professional trainings are required. I think change is good and believe I will always be learning like my students. Every year is a new challenge that I look forward to. The students come into kindergarten at so many different levels and abilities. And every year, I need to reevaluate my lessons so that every student has access to the curriculum. This includes purchasing new materials and enhancing and enriching the programs in my classroom.

My Project

I am purchasing an iPad. This is to use at my professional development trainings, which can include for example, common core state standards, our new math program, and literacy foundations. Most trainings ask that you bring an iPad to access data during these trainings. My school district uses one particular website for research and support.

Technology if so important in the classroom and an iPad would enhance and enrich my program.

There is so much support online and an iPad would allow me to access more materials that I need to help all my students.
