My Project

I'm a school psychologist who covers two schools totaling over 1500 students. That said, I travel between my schools often and need to have electronic resources readily available to meet the needs of my students. I conduct observations of students within the classroom to be able to provide information to parents and teachers about the best ways to support their learning. I frequently have consultations with parents and teachers regarding student performance and ways we can help them be successful.

Having an iPad will allow me to be able to meet the needs of the 1500+ students by providing a way to take notes during observations and meetings, document interventions, and utilize apps that allow me to systematically analyze students' academic, behavior and social-emotional skills to ensure that we are implementing the strategies and resources that truly meet students' needs.

There are social-emotional, behavioral and academic apps that I would have easy access to when working with students to provide interventions faster than having to take paper materials back and forth to various buildings. No longer will time be lost through locating and gathering materials between the schools as I will be able to have the majority of them with me at all times through the use of the iPad.

Most students enjoy technology and this is another way to connect to them when having tough conversations during counseling sessions. I also have the ability to use the iPad during assessments that assist with determining eligibility for special education services.
