My Students

Preparing our students for the future should be the goal of every teacher. Unfortunately, it is difficult to prepare for the future when using tools of the past. The iPad is where education is going from this point forward.

My classroom is set in a semi-rural town.

The students in my class are a very diverse group, racially, socio-economically, and educationally. My goal in the classroom is to make science fun and nurture my students' curiosity of their surroundings in science. The students at our school love science because they love the outside world and understanding how the Earth works. They have a lot of prior knowledge in the area of science, because they have spent much of their time outdoors. Many have worked the farm, or helped family members repair automobiles. They just don't have the higher level science experience to prepare them for college or for future careers.

My Project

Your donation will make it possible for my students to change the course of their education. Science will become less lectured and more hands on. By putting an iPad in the classroom you will be helping students prepare for their futures which rely more heavily upon being able to use technology. I truly believe that this will change my students' experience of science and enable them to compete with any other student in their future education.

Having an iPad for our classroom will be the start of the future.

There are many applications that we can utilize in our class. Creating animations, collecting data, posting wikis, and using the device as an e-reader are just some of the potential uses that the iPad will see.
