Let's get my kids out of the classroom and flying through space and over the Amazon Rainforest. Then it's time to read a story about Harriet Tubman. An iPad can give my students amazing learning opportunities for exploring and discovery.
Our Title I elementary school is located in Brooklyn, NY.
All our children qualify for free and reduced breakfast and lunch. The families that are part of our neighborhood form a beautiful mosaic of cultures and backgrounds that give our school a wonderful flavor. However, many of our children are struggling below grade level and we teachers need technology to introduce better ways to teach language and math skills. Funding for iPads is nonexistent, but I know having one in my 3rd grade classroom will open up many learning doors.
My Project
I am requesting one Apple iPad Air tablet. This device will be used in various learning centers for individual and small group learning. I will also be able to project images onto the SMARTBoard for whole group learning. With an iPad I can get math and reading apps that reinforce and teach basic language skills. Many of my students struggle with reading from a book, but an iPad is a great hook for engagement!
Your support of my third grade classroom is so greatly appreciated.
Technology is a powerful learning tool that provides multiple entry points of learning. When we receive this iPad I know we'll see excited engagement and accelerated learning!
