My students need an iPad Pro to use with a green screen to create various technology projects.

My Students

My fifth graders are between the ages of ten and eleven. Our school is located in rural coastal South Carolina.

My students love to incorporate technology into their learning.

They are creative, motivated, and curious learners. Many students come from low income households with single parents or grandparents as their providers. Our classroom is a tight knit community that encourages each other to be life long learners. As their teacher, it is my responsibility to model and integrate a love of learning.

My Project

My students need an iPadPro to use with a Green Screen. This technology will allow students to easily create and edit green screen videos with fantastic results. We will use the iPad Pro to film historical reports, book character interviews, reenactments of favorite scenes, math-thinking explanations, or scientific responses, the possibilities are endless.

I am always looking to give my students choice in how they demonstrate and showcase their learning.

Having an iPad Pro will allow my students to creatively express themselves throughout all subject areas. Students who typically struggle with writing can express their learning through video a bit easier. It will also allow them the opportunity to collaborate with and critique one another. These videos can then be shared with the rest of the school and my students' families.

The iPad Pro is necessary because it will be used to create videos by the 5th gradersindependently. If I want my students to take turns creating videos fairly quickly, it needs to be through a simplistic medium. The iPad Pro offers this ease of use and the students will be able to use it without extensive instruction from the teacher. My students with special needs also have familiarity with iPad usage, and will be able to showcase their learning as well. The durable case will prevent any damages to the iPad Pro, so many years of students will be able to use it.
