Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come to school every day excited to learn! My school is a Title I school with 92.9% of students coming from low-income families. There is a high percentage of Latinos at my school. I teach students who are learning English as a second language.
My students may come from low-income homes, but they are motivated to do well in school, and they enjoy learning!
I teach 3rd through 8th grade Special Education. My students have various disabilities including Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, Emotional Disturbance, ADHD, Other Health Impairment, and Learning Disabilities.
My Project
My students need an iPad to support them in my classroom. I teach students who are all at different levels and grades (2nd-8th). There are so many educational apps that I would love my students to explore, except we just don't have access to. Having an iPad in my classroom will allow my students to rotate learning on the iPad as part of a center! My students could work on their reading fluency, math fluency, and much more! There are apps that you can create social stories on. This would be very beneficial for some of my students with Autism to use!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
