Help me give my students a new, classroom iPad that allows me to assess my students more efficiently, so that I can spend more time teaching targeted, small groups.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are in need of a new classroom iPad! As an educator I need to use various testing applications that simply work better on a iPad vs. a computer. I teach a wonderful group of kindergartners and test students one-to-one during small group instruction. I need to assess at the beginning, middle and end of the year for benchmark assessments for reading foundational skills and mathematical skills. Plus test every 2 weeks for students that are below grade level and monthly for those that are close to grade level.
My goal is to get a new iPad to assess my students more efficiently and have more time for targeted small group instruction.
Being able to use these testing applications more efficiently and effectively will help me as an educator, assess accurately and spend less time assessing and more time teaching. Making sure these assessments are accurate is important because i use this data and information to create my small groups and design targeted small group instruction. In kindergarten, differentiated small group instruction is vital for academic progress and having a new, functional iPad would make my job easier.
