My Students
Remember what it was like to have an overhead projector in the class? Thankfully, technology has evolved and students are excited about using technology in the classroom. Students are preparing to become 21st Century Learners, and in this journey they will need an iPad Mini and keyboard.
My students are full of excitement about Second Grade and being in school!
They are sweet and ready to learn new things every day. Our school is fairly new, it opened five years ago and is lacking many instructional materials, including classroom technology for the students to utilize. Our school has a moderate poverty level, about 40% of our students receive a free or reduced lunch. My goal is to fill our classroom with as many technology opportunities as possible to help our young students meet the goals of becoming 21st century learners and global competitors. This is especially important because I am molding future scientists and mathematicians.
My Project
Students will use the iPad Mini to enhance their mathematics and science instruction. Students will be able to utilize a personalized learning curriculum, which will allow them to create science and math projects, and learn the curriculum at their own pace. This could not be done without technology in the classroom. They will be able to publish their findings using the keyboard for an easier typing experience.
This project will improve my classroom by increasing the engagement level of my students through the use of technology.
These students have grown up with personal technology at home and are more apt to do their best work when given technology, rather than a pencil and paper.
