The days of looking through an Encyclopedia to find information for a research project are long gone. My students need an iPad mini to conduct research and to improve their reading skills. The applications students can use on the iPad mini can help them with their reading skills.
My students are the most, awesome group of kids you could ever be around.
They are energetic and eager to learn. They are very intelligent and great with technology. They come from a variety of backgrounds. They have interests ranging from dancing, sports, animals, and video games. I have some students who have their own iPads at home and some who have never touched an iPad before coming into my classroom. Our school is a public elementary school that is leading the way in technology innovation in the classroom. Please be a part of our technology plans by helping us purchase an iPad mini for my students!
My Project
I am requesting one iPad Mini to be used in my fifth grade classroom. The iPad will be an essential tool to help my students with learning. Their iPad will be used for research, reading, tutorial applications, and publishing and presenting presentations. By using this technology, my students will be better prepared for middle school and, one day, the work force. Apple Apps will be downloaded on the iPad specifically in the areas of reading comprehension and basic reading to target improving skills in these areas. I chose an iPad mini to offset costs as it is less expensive and will still suffice to meet student needs.
Having and using an iPad mini would truly change the learning environment in my classroom.
Donating to this project can put learning in the hands of students. The iPad mini is a tool that can be used for many years, which will benefit numerous students for years to come. iPads are the way of the future for education and we are only beginning to see the potential they have in the classroom!
