This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are great kids that work hard even through many obstacles. 2020 is no average year and our students need our help more than ever to bridge these resource gaps. Although my students live in the poorest district in the United States, one that was hit hard by Covid, many of them have still showed up in person to learn. They want to be here, they want to learn.

They have been given iPads by New York City because they cannot afford their own andhave done everything they could to complete various tasks to succeed this semester even when it's not easy.

This is why I'm proposing this project, to make it easier for my students! My students need keyboards with computer mice to use with their iPad so they don't spend hours typing on it. They have requested this so I'm reaching out for help. These simple keyboards will transform their iPads into computers and help them be even more successful in college and/ or in their future careers. We cannot allow them to continue to have large gaps in their education. I hope you can help us bridge this resource gap!

My Project

Have you ever tried to write a 5 page essay on an iPad? How about a paragraph? My students have shown me that our iPads are making it hard for them to learn. They cannot afford their own computers, so they can only use the iPads given to them by New York City. My goal is to make learning a little easier for them by providing them keyboards for their iPads. It will save them hours of effort to type on their iPad and therefore give them more time to learn! Please help out our scholars by giving them this necessary equipment to learn remotely at home and in their classes.
