Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at our school are so AMAZING and special because the majority of them come from many different cultures where they are learning English as a second language! The socioeconomic status in our neighborhoods are low-income and our students are in desperate need of academic resources.
Our students love to explore and be creative in their learning.
They are filled with an excitement and joy to learn! Being a first grader is challenging because the students are making the most growth in first grade! I want to create an exciting and engaging learning environment to help combat these challenges!
My Project
Our school is one of the five schools in our district becoming a STEAM Magnet school! STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math! Our school will have a large Project Based Learning experience for the students with an Entrepreneurship focus. Our lesson plans for the students will be directly reflecting a project based learning experience. iPads would greatly help the PBL focus in our classroom. I want students to be able to research and explore new things through the technology lens.
If you have been around any kid born in the past 15 years, you would know that they LOVE technology in any form!
As a teacher, I have to know my students well. Knowing what my students love helps me motivate them, and like I said before they LOVE technology. I want to see my students achieve all of their goals. Because our school has limited resources, I know these students would just love to have classroom iPads that they could use DAILY!
