My Students

Technology is a vital part of an ever changing world! In my classroom, we have embraced many new forms of technology. My students have become very comfortable using iPads in the classroom. The challenge is that we do not have enough iPads for students to use on a daily basis.

As first graders, they are very busy and are always excited about learning through technology.

In my class, I have many different levels of learning abilities that are addressed through differentiated learning to help all of my students become successful learners. The use of iPads allows learning to be more interactive, fun, and engaging for all of my students. iPads are high interest, portable motivators that easily engage my students.

My Project

I am requesting 2 iPads, which will be used in my 1st grade classroom. Students have been wonderful in sharing the 2 iPads we currently have; however, it can be difficult getting to everyone in the classroom. Having two more iPads to use will enable me to place more students on an iPad and give more opportunities for individualized learning using interactive games/apps/websites that enhance and support their learning. More students can be working on the iPads completely independently, at various levels, while I work with small groups. This will make it simple, fun and easy to practice and reinforce skills that we've worked on in reading/language arts, mathematics, and unit/research.

This project will broaden learning opportunities within the classroom.

Having 2 more iPads will ensure students daily expose to technology and resources that enhance their learning.
