Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Future female innovators are all around us. As a passionate proponent of Computer Science and STEM education, I want to create a pipeline that connects our Hispanic girls interested in STEM directly with professionals and organizations that can nurture their talents and lead to STEM careers.

Computer Science and STEM can level the playing field and empower young Hispanic women to pursue 21st-century opportunities through Girls Who Code.

The iPad Pro is an engaging tool that permits our future engineers to access the Girls Who Code coding and app creation curriculum. The iPad Pro has powerful computing power and is easy to use. iPads allow for reading, writing, and recording of multimedia. Its portability allows for girls to easily troubleshoot coding challenges and present them to their peers in a fun app environment.

In reality, we could greatly benefit from a class set of iPads. However, we will humbly begin with this one iPad Pro tablet and build a movement in our school towards equity, representation, and girl success. Thank you for your support.
