My Students
My students have autism, learning and language disabilities, and emotional disabilities. My students are sweet, caring, and eager to learn. They thrive from technology and are highly motivated by it as well. My students always ask me to work for an iPad, which I do not have access to. In addition, an iPad can be used with communication device software and apps to encourage communication and learning. My students will love to have access to an iPad in speech. It can also be used as video modeling to help them with their speech sound production so they can see themselves producing sounds correctly or incorrectly. The options are endless.
My Project
Most of my students have autism. Many of them use communication apps to communicate. I would like to be able to model communication for them on an iPad, in addition to having them use learning apps. An iPad will help me teach my students through the use of technology. The students are highly motivated by technology and will do just about anything required of them for a turn on an iPad. My hope is that the students can access a classroom iPad as a reward, to enhance learning, and discover a new and modern world through the use of technology.
