This year we had a wonderful remodel. Our building is new and fresh, but budget restraints led to not getting needed technology for instruction. I’m left with a TV that I can only use a document camera with. I’m not able to write on the TV nor effectively use my classroom resources. It’s impacted my instruction as all I’m able to do is project a worksheet for the students. Students struggle to view what I'm doing in instruction and desire the one-on-one touch-ins that I'm limited to do. An iPad could be streamed to the TV and with an Air Pencil, I’d be able to annotate on the iPad, thus allowing me to give students a full view of the instruction and allow me to move around the classroom.
Students would benefit from an iPad to be able to share their thinking with the class and project their work onto our classroom TV.
They could use the iPad for learning apps that would support their practice in math. The iPad could be used for our classroom library check-out system and allow for better tracking of our books that our classroom librarians manage.
These tools would allow for seamless instruction and the ability for me to be mobile in the classroom supporting students and better managing students’ learning and provide timely feedback. Students would benefit from the extra technology to do a host of things!
