Help me give my students an iPad to facilitate and validate test administration, and implement effective progress monitoring throughout the school year.
My students are tested, using a computer-based program, which is administered at the beginning, middle, and the end of the year. Each student must complete four different tests, giving their answers orally, as the teacher records their responses. These tests are timed, and the results of each test rely greatly on the accuracy and speed in which the teacher can respond.
The use of an iPad will allow me to record my students quickly and accurately, eliminating the need to ask them to slow down so that the responses can be recorded properly.
The quickness and ease of the touch screen on an iPad will greatly facilitate the administration of these tests, as well as the progress monitoring and instruction that will take place throughout the school year. An iPad would make the testing process much easier and more reliable for everyone involved!
The iPad will also be used for direct instruction in the classroom. Students will have access to instructional videos, interactive apps and a voice recorder to record their reading progress.
