My Students

I support really interesting students in multiple grades, who are trying to learn English, while they learn in English. We address them as ESL (English as a second language, but some of my students already speak 2 or 3 languages!)

My kids are a diverse group of students, with unique social, emotional, and academic needs, based on their prior experiences.

My job is to help them bridge the language gap to make them feel welcome!

My Project

How can iPads help students learn?

We have been given the opportunity to use an iPad in class.

We have 10 wonderful new devices that are helping me to create engaging lessons for my students.

Unfortunately, iPads don't have a charging case and for now we are using all outlets in the mobile to charge the devices.

I am asking for your generosity to help us organize the iPads in one place. The Belkin stand will help us to do it. It's also creating easy to follow routine to the students an eliminating that transition time between the activities, so we can spent more time to learn and not to search around for an empty outlet.

Another item we are very hopeful to receive us stylus pens.

No doubt there is a connection between physically writing and the cognitive ideas that are formed in a person’s brain. Kids have to be writing this symbolic language to understand it There are so many ways stylus pens can elevate our lessons: We can annotate PDFs in different colors for close reading lessons, it will provides students freedom to write all over workbooks, it will revolutionizes our whiteboard writing experience.

Ultimately, it makes an excellent writing and teaching tool, that will help engage students and achieve that cognitive connection between brain and hand.
