it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are energetic, bright, and excited to be at school and learning. The community is low-income and high poverty and most students do not go to preschool. Every child in the school receives free breakfast and lunch at the school. A large population is not native English speakers, and we work hard to teach them their numbers and letter sounds. In this classroom, we work hard on including others, resolving conflicts, and doing hard things. Character development is just as important as learning how to read and write.
My Project
The students have iPads to use daily but the cases that protect the iPads are in bad condition. They often are holding an iPad with no case which puts them at risk for breaking and it doesn't hold the iPad up to support it so that they can focus on learning and not holding their iPad in the right position. They also need the organizers to hang their headphones up in easy to find places. Another support is the floor seat for the students who struggle with their core muscles to sit in a learning position on the carpet.
