Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a Title I school with 76.9% of our student population getting free or reduced-price lunch. My students are highly engaged and love the hands-on, project-based nature of my engineering classes. However, with the global pandemic still going on, an enormous part of student learning this coming school year will happen online via zoom meetings and virtual hands-on activities using apps and websites.

The various challenges of virtual teaching have brought out the best in all teachers.
I, for one, have always been in search of ways on how to extend the capabilities of the resources my online classroom already has in order for learning to continue despite the challenges.
I, previously requested an iPad Pro, to help me provide my students with much-needed feedback in their submitted assignments in Google Classroom. Since then, I've also used the iPad to record and edit video lessons.
I also saw how this product with the right accessories and apps can improve the delivery of lessons. The Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro with the help of an interactive whiteboard app will help me conduct live Zoom lessons efficiently. For example, using zoom's iPad screen sharing feature, I can share a PowerPoint presentation and, as I teach, annotate it using the keyboard and/or the apple pencil. Alternatively, if I need to draw or write to explain a concept, I can switch to an iPad whiteboard app and freely type or write. Last, I can also share a web browser if I need to show an article, picture, animation or video from a website. The keyboard can help navigate websites easily. These teaching strategies will cause increased student engagement and student understanding of the lesson.
The Samsung T7 Solid State Drive will be used as an extended storage device for the iPad. It will store all the video recordings of Zoom sessions. Students absent on the day of the lesson or who wants to review the lesson can watch these recordings.
