Help me give my students a creative lab lounge in my special education science classroom. This area would be used for those students who are in need of a calm area to complete work.
Some of my students get overwhelmed and overstimulated. This will be an area to provide low lighting and a calm area for them to work within the classroom. These opportunities are difficult in a junior high setting. I want to make it a positive learning environment and provide the appropriate accommodations for my students that need extra assistance or a calmer learning environment. Having a different seating area in the classroom allows for those students to have an area to assist them with the times they need a calmer area to work.
Having a positive environment will enhance those learning opportunities.
Hands-on learning works the best with my students. Having an additional area to work will give my students another station area for work.
