it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love how resilient and curious my students are, even when reading feels difficult or overwhelming for them. Many struggle with literacy or have never found a book they truly enjoy—yet I see their eyes light up when they discover a story that speaks to them. I’ve requested books that they rush to find in the library, hoping to bring that same excitement into our classroom daily. With a warm, peaceful reading space and books organized by genre, students will feel safe, calm, and supported. This space isn't just for reading—it’s a place to unwind, recharge, and escape daily stress. For students coping with anxiety or personal challenges, this environment can offer comfort and emotional relief. With duplicate copies, students can read together and form mini book clubs, creating meaningful conversations and friendships through stories. I want them to see reading not as a task, but as something that helps them relax, connect with others, and build confidence in themselves.
