This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every student is always excited to paint. Unlike the watercolor they did in the past, in elementary school, this is an in depth lesson on how to use the medium not just filling in the spaces like that of a coloring book. Watercolor is far from that because it is so fluid.
They will begin by practicing landscapes, plein air painting, wet on wet, wet on dry, and dry brush. Once they have made their three testers they will cut them out and add them to their sketchbooks. this way they can keep it with them for reference as we move though the watercolor unit. Finally they will all participate in an Authentic Assessment. Selected works will be displayed in an exhibition.
