My Students

I believe that learning another language opens up a world of opportunities, and I want to bring more real-world learning into my students' grasp.

Teaching French is my passion, and I am dedicated to constantly improving my craft.

I have been teaching French for 9 years, and I love introducing my students to this language. I currently teach levels 2, 4 and 5 in a public high school in the Midwest.

My Project

I am requesting funding to take two graduate-level courses. The first course is entitled "Service Learning: Engaging Students in Meaningful Experience." I have been interested in starting a service learning component for several years and would like more information on establishing this kind of program in my high school. The other course is "What Great Teachers Do." I am hoping that the second course will provide fresh approaches to motivate my students, particularly in my lower-level French classes.

This project will help me create a classroom environment that motivates.

Through the integration of real-world use of French, I hope to inspire my students to continue their journey with the language past the few years they have in my classroom.
