Intro to Rocket Science!

Help me give my students the base materials needed for their intro to rocketry class! We have almost everything we need; we just need the launch controller and engines to test our very own 3D printed models!

My Project

In our high school rocketry class, students will embark on an interactive journey into aerospace engineering, applying STEM concepts to design, build, and launch model rockets. This project will help students develop critical engineering, problem-solving, and mathematical skills by combining theoretical physics, hands-on prototyping, and real-world calculations.

The class is structured into three phases:

Theory – Students will explore physics, aerodynamics, and meteorology, learning to manually calculate rocket trajectories using real-world math.

Practice – They will conduct hands-on experiments to test propulsion, stability, and flight dynamics.

Application – Students will use 3D printing technology with carbon fiber filament to design and build their own high-performance model rockets, launching them to test accuracy against their calculations.

This project will ignite student curiosity in STEM careers while developing technical and analytical skills essential for engineering fields. With your support, we will equip students with the materials, software, and technology needed to bring their designs to life and achieve successful rocket launches.
