This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Jason Reynolds is one of the best young adult writers we have right now and our learners would benefit greatly from gaining the second hand knowledge he has to share. Representation matters and if we want our kids to become lifelong readers, we must provide the guided reading with appropriate materials so that we don't lose their interest. We will read this story, All American Boys, and through project based learning, we will harness the power of creation to demonstrate our knowledge and understand of the issues that our students face, while creating a proactive, rather than reactive, response.
