My Students
The students in my class are curious and eager-to-learn young individuals. Majority of my students are English language learners, and about a third of my class consists of students with various special needs or disabilities, such as learning disability, autism, and speech or language impairment.
To provide best instruction and meet my students at their present level of performance I often need to incorporate lots of visuals, hands-on activities, and various management tools.
Each student in my classroom is a unique learner; together, however, my students make up a great group of young learners who, I hope, would continue their learning journey and grow up to be well-rounded individuals.
My Project
My students are curious young learners who love to explore various genres of literature. "Storyworks" magazine subscription by Scholastic offers a wide range of texts in many genres of literature. Included in the subscription are differentiated activities that can be used with the wide variety of learners in my class.
Differentiation tools like leveled articles, audio versions (also leveled), vocabulary slideshows, and “Behind the Scenes” videos build background knowledge and support all kinds of learners.
Every curious learner should be exposed to various genres and interesting texts. Some readers need more instructional support than others, and that is why "Storyworks" magazine subscription would be a great supplemental instructional tool for my students.
