Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students come to school with a variety of experiences, backgrounds, and learning differences. Our robotics program is open to all students and gives these students an opportunity to use teamwork and innovation to problem solve and think critically while engaged and excited.

STEM, coding, and robotics are vital skills for students to be able to use in a world that is continually becoming more technologically advanced.

Several of our students that struggle both academically and emotionally found success at school through participating and competing in coding and robotics activities.

My Project

The materials I am requesting will be used with the robotics team I am coaching this year and will be used with teams in future years, as well. This will be the first year that our school has had a robotics team. We will build on skills that many of our students learned and practiced in computer club last school year and in participating in the district's technology competition.

The LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 Core Set provides the robotics with components the team will need to build their robot to participate in the FIRST LEGO League competition in December.

The LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 Expansion Set has additional bricks and elements that students can use in addition to the Core Set to enhance their robot.

Your donation to this project supplies materials for my students to work collaboratively using critical and innovative thinking to build robots, compete in the FIRST LEGO League, and expand their STEM knowledge. I look forward to seeing the growth and innovation that your donation will bring to my students through robotics and STEM.
