Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These books will support our underserved readers who are two to four grade levels below in reading. Readers will be part of a reading intervention program that uses research-based practices and highly engaging texts that are real novels and also appropriate for middle school learners!
The books coupled with the intervention program will help readers fill in gaps in fluency, decoding, reading stamina, and comprehension, aiming to move struggling students to higher levels of proficiency at the end of one year.
Students will be able to read and actively engage in discussions of cognitively challenging content that are aligned to the standards. One of the best parts is that all of the books engage students with issues in their lives and in the real world!
