This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
During this 2022-2023 school year I have been given the opportunity to begin a reading intervention position for our older students, 4th-6th grade who were heavily impacted by the pandemic in their journey to becoming incredible readers.
This project will provide much needed decodable texts that are interesting to older students but readable at a lower reading level.
Specifically, they are fantasy and adventure themes but accessible to beginner readers. The books we currently have for intervention are geared towards primary students and this project would get us started in building a resource library for our intermediate students!
