Help me give my students an interesting book to discuss during our school bookclub.

My Students
My students are fun loving, motivated middle schoolers who need to explore, read and create. Most of my students do well in school, are willing to try new things, and need opportunities to talk to each other and socialize.
My students need interesting books, and they need opportunities to talk about those books.
Students need to be given opportunities to develop their own libraries and to have their own books. These opportunities are valuable to students.
My Project
Our school book club, Brown Bag and a Book, has been an effective way to distribute books to students for over 15 years. Students sign-up if the book interests them, read the book (they are given the book to keep), bring their lunch to the library and discuss the book. Students get the opportunity to develop their own home libraries, and students who have access to books are more literate. Especially during Covid, it's important to let students have books of their own so they have reading materials for at home use.
Book club is a great place for students who enjoy books; the library is a safe haven for them and book club gives them a chance for their voice to be heard in a social setting as the books are discussed with the group.
Our school book club, introduces students to genres and subjects they may not normally choose for themselves and broadens their horizons. By offering a variety of popular and current books, we encourage students who don't love to read to give it a try.
I strive to give out at least 60 books per month and it can be difficult to find books that are interesting and affordable. Pony by RJ Palacio is an interesting book by an author the students know and will be one they want to read.
