This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many young students find it difficult to read because they find it boring.
This was no exception in my 6th class until we read a book that sparked their interest!
I introduced the book "The Outsiders" and they enjoyed reading it so much that I had a lot of requests from students asking if they can keep the book. Of course, this isn't possible as we share a set of these books with two other 6th-grade classes.
I was sparked with joy and excitement about how interested my students were in reading this book. I noticed a spark in each one of them every time we read a chapter. My students were so eager to read. I would like to gift each one of my students a copy of this book. Our school goes up to 6th grade and this will be their last year at our school. I would love to give them a book that they love to encourage their reading.
